Lorelei 8 month pix

So apparently JCPenny's no longer likes people putting their pictures on facebook and blogs and really decreased the quality of the photos. Pretend they are not fuzzy and see how cute my babies are. I am trying really hard to get an awesome picture of Hunter and Lorelei. I got some cute ones. I can't believe how much Lorelei is growing up!

Monday.. Wednesday... Friday...

And Hunter is off
Most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays you will find us at the YMCA water park enjoying the summer heat with some refreshing cool water.
Lorelei stoked for the baby fountains
Three days a week they have toddler time at the pool where only children 6 and under can swim. It sure make is a lot less crowded. A large number of the people at the pool are fellow church members so it makes it feel like you family pool if we were rich and wealthy. lol

Playing "Bucket Tag"
It lifts my spirits to get some Vitamin D from the sun and have an absolute blast with my children. Now if only they wouldn't get so upset when I told them it was time to go home....

The Lake!

Excited to be out on the water.
It isn't officially summer until you get the boat out on the water. The past two weekends at the lake have been wonderful. We were worried about how Lorelei would do her first time out getting used to the life jacket and the boat. Lorelei was an immediate boat lover and a pickle was all it took to convince her the life jacket thing wasn't so bad.

Lorelei Radioing Contacts
It was deja vu for me seeing miss Lorelei in Hunter's former life jacket. We had bought Lorelei a new adorable lime green life jacket, but it was already to small for her poor little neck. Hunter is always ecstatic to be on the boat. Even if he gets a little sea sick when it is windy. He upchucked those bananas and then was ready to fish and go to the shore to throw rocks.

Our lovely lil Family
I do not know what it is about throwing rocks, but it is Hunter's form of heaven. I like being able to sit on the sandy beach with my feet in the cool water and watch my two little fish have a blast. Lorelei loves swimming in the lake. It took no warming up for her. She was an immediate fish. I almost think if I let go of her she would just swim off since she is so good at kicking and paddling in the water.

Kiddos with Papa

Hunter loving the tube
Hunter Henry loves tubing. It is a blast riding with the dude and hearing his pure excitement over each wave we go and "whale" we see. Each Summer the first weekend on the boat makes me realize how much Hunter has grown over the past year. He is no longer a baby, but his own little man with his own habits.

Telling daddy faster!
It is going to be a wonderful summer on the water with my family and two beautiful kiddos!

The Ugly Duckling!

Too busy watching to look at camera.
I took Lorelei to the Children's music theater with Hunter this Thursday. I assumed she would have no interest in the production, so I brought a bag full of toys to keep her occupied. I was pleasantly surprised that Lorelei was fascinated by the production and for the most part kept her attention for the full 30 minutes! It is always a blast to watch your children enjoy something you enjoyed as a child.

Thrilled to be by Megan and Watching the musical.

She loved the ducks!

Hunter's First Bike!

Working on pedaling
Anton surprised Hunter yesterday with an amazing Lightening McQueen bike with matching helmet and bell!
Hunter was absolutely thrilled. Hunter had been watching the big boys ride bikes and has been begging for one for a while.

Too busy to smile!
Watching my little boy on a bike was huge! I can not believe how quickly he is growing up! Time with Hunter has just flown by! I can hardly believe he is going to start preschool this fall! I wish I would have been able to stay home from the moment he was born. He is such an amazing young man. I am blessed to finally have the opportunity to stay home with both my beautiful children! I think I am the happiest I have ever been!

Go Big Brother!
Lorelei had a blast watching her brother as always! Hunter is still working on learning the pedaling part, but he is eager to get it down!

Upside down and Inside out on Main street. East Point VBS 2011

Me looking beautiful as ever playing Duck Duck Juice
Growing up I used to go to a really conservative church and I was never allowed to go to VBS. I always heard how much fun other kids had going and was very jealous.
Luckily for my kids I am not on the super "Taliban" conservative side of the church. When I heard that we were going to put on an actual VBS this year I was ecstatic. (I seem to use that word a lot. )
I immediately signed up to be a coordinator and I am so glad I did.

Sponge Dodge Ball
I had as much fun helping to plan VBS as the kids did going. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of the decorations. I will have to get some from people.
We turned the hallway into a main street. We lined the hallways with buildings with cute names such as Prodigal Son Printing Press, Blooming Blessings Flower Shop, The Good Samaritan Hospital, and other ones I can't think of right now. We covered the floor with black table clothes and yellow duct tape to make a road. The snack room was turned into a bisto complete with awning, bistro tables, menu's, decorated food sacks, and chalk drawings. The story application room was decorated in bible times complete with pillars, old time walk way, floor pillows, and foliage. The kids also had bible robes to wear during story application. The craft room was turned into a factory with gears on the wall, three dimensional time clock, and bricks. The entrance to the outside games was decked out in flames! Also when you walked into the building the front entry way was all decked out as a roadside bistro with decorated lunch sacks of goodies for the kids that applied to the parable of the day.

Water cup relay. My Hunter is a little competitive booger!
We had almost 100 kids show up which was amazing!
During VBS itself I was the games coordinator. I think that is the place for me beside the fact it was a 100 degrees it is a blast running around with the kiddos.
It was such a gift to see my son thoroughly enjoy himself. I guess not many VBS's allow 2-3 year olds. I am so glad that we did. They may have not understood all the concepts through the VBS, but they really enjoyed themselves and they did pick up a little. It made it where Hunter is even more thrilled to go to church and more excited about singing christian songs.

Hunter next to his buddies on their lead rope.
We played all kinds of fun games. I think the kids favorite we tide between bubbles and pool noodle fights for the little kids and Duck Duck Juice and Sponge Dodge Ball for the Big Kids. Course I think the 4-6th graders loved attacking me with the pool noodles. I am amazed I was able to walk afterwards. lol.

My Group
The last day we had an all inclusive Fellowship night. Hunter won the prize for bringing the most friends. We had a skit, we sang songs, we had hot dogs and hamburgers, a 30 ft inflatable obstacle course, a pirate ship inflatable obstacle course, and a fire pit for cooking smores. Hunter enjoyed himself so much I literally had to take him by throwing him over my shoulder while he kicked and screamed the whole time. Hunter keeps asking me in the mornings if we are going to VBS that day. I think I am as bummed as Hunter that VBS is over. I guess time to start planning for next year.

Inflatables on the last day.
