Phew it has been in the triple digits for 38 days. Hence why my grass is brown. Right now it is only 87 degrees and we actually have a light wind. What heaven has come among us?
Anyways I had stated before I would come up with something new to do with water outside besides sprinkler, water balloons, or pool. I found this idea while surfing the net here.
We actually had a bit of wind today. Yes wind! Oh my it was wonderful course it made laying the river down a little bit more challenging well until I finally had the bright idea to go ahead and turn the water on and form the river around it. Then it was easy peasy. Seriously where does my brain go sometimes?
I was pleasantly surprised that it only took a trickle from the hose to get the river flowing.
It was a relief to finally have an activity that both my children could enjoy even with a three year age difference. Lorelei loved splashing in the river and trying to catch the boats and "fish" coming down the river.
Hunter took the serious job of steering the boats and relaunching them. He also liked to change the flow of the river by reshaping the foil. I love how Hunter is so intense about what he is doing. Oh I could just squeeze his cheeks. ; )
played worked hard until lunch time. Then we just rolled up our ten feet of foil to save for another day.
I love making memories with all kinds of fun!
What memory are you making with your kids?
